The Whitestone House was clean, and updated on the inside. The outside was overgrown with tall weeds and not maintained.

Thanks for your feedback, Juliann. Please know that the house is located in the woods on farm acreage, and the property has regular lawn maintenance. If we only have been made known that the grass is too tall for you we could have it mowed again.
We hope that you will give us a chance to host you again in the future and we will make sure to provide you with better service.
Rest assured that this will serve as an avenue for us to host guests better. We thank you again for this feedback.

The White Stone house is a cute more modern home for the area. It has nice minimalistic decor, but plenty of care for what you might need while you stay. It is located off a dirt road but the GPS found it just fine. Super quiet, WiFi worked well for work and I had good Verizon cell
Service as well. I would def return.

Great place to book if you want to be close to downtown Traverse City and to the wineries on the Leelanau peninsula. It's very private off a dirt road, so you don't have any neighbors. we loved being able to walk around the property with our dog each morning. Its a cute, cozy spot.

The location of the White Stone House was perfect! Secluded and peaceful, but just minutes from downtown TC and a short drive to gorgeous lake views and every winery you want to take in. the house was clean and exactly as described.

Chose this rental for a work trip. Aside from the door code, no check in instructions provided. No WiFi password provided, no instructions for the gas fireplace.
The WiFi didn’t work. Unable to stream a tv show on the tv provided, and could not use phone or computer. Luckily I had a portable hotspot or I would have had to find another place to work. The home was visibly dirty with soiled and stained rugs. A strong odor of mildew and animals throughout. Mold in the coffee machine. The bedding including sheets, comforters, pillows, and towels smelled like mildew and had a “dirty washcloth” odor.
Orkin pest control company showed up one morning unannounced and sprayed chemicals around the perimeter including the doorways with no indication of what the substance is or if it was safe for humans or animals. When I reach out Bayshore rentals responded by recommending I don’t let my dog sniff the doorways.
No check out instructions until late the night before checkout. Wouldn’t recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed our time at the White Stone House! The house was as described and perfect for what we needed. We brought our 2 dogs with us as well, so the property was great for letting them run and explore through the groomed trails. We were 15 mins from Sutton’s Bay & 10 from downtown TC. Perfect location, amazing views of the foliage and bay from the top of the property and secluded. We will definitely be returning!

We had a great time here. The location is great. Secluded enough that you feel isolated but close enough to things that you dont have to travel much to get to places. 15-30 mins to pretty much everywhere.
The management is extremely responsive and helpful.

The location of the Little White Stone House allowed for easy access to Traverse City, but we also enjoyed the rural feel of the place. We were able to walk the Preserve with our dogs and road the bike path to Suttons Bay. It was a pleasurable stay.

This vacation rental is well located in proximity to downtown Traverse City and other destinations in the area, while still being secluded/private.
We were initially charmed by The White Stone House and appreciated that the rental company gave us permission in advance to rent a barrel sauna that was placed on site for a couple days.
Unfortunately soon after arrival it became evident that this property needs to be reevaluated (maintenance, cleaning, etc), especially at the current price. The home needs serious work to match what is being advertised. We communicated with Bayshore Vacation Rentals throughout our stay regarding the numerous issues and they were very responsive but it was still a disappointing experience.

$1300 for a two day rental and you have the nerve to ask for $75 to check out 2 hours late?
House smelled musty and moldy, internet was non-existent. I feel like we got ripped off.
- Anonymous , Posted: 8/20/2023
Hey Luke, thank you for the feedback. Our cleaners and inspection team run on a very tight schedule to ensure each property is available for the next guests stay. We are always happy to accommodate a late check out, if we can work it into the schedule appropriately! The $75 late check out fee is our company standard. We are very sorry that you had experienced a musty smell, and inconsistent internet. We have looked into the internet issue, and are working to get it resolved. We have also equipped the home with a dehumidifier, as well as an air purifier to help the homes smell, when we experience rain storms!

Cute little bunker nestled away from the downtown area of TC, but only 10-20 min to downtown TC or Sutton's Bay. Very private and minutes from great wineries. Loved the final touches in the decor, and that it was dog friendly!

Hey Andrea! Thank you so much for your kind review! This house is in a great area to enjoy not only Traverse City, but also Suttons Bay as well! We are so happy we were able to host your furry friend as well!
- Bayshore Vacation Rentals staff, Posted: 8/14/2023
The house is, as others have described, bunker-like. It took me a day to realize that it is built into a hill, which explains the lack of windows in the back bedroom and bathroom, but does not explain why there is also no window in the front bedroom. It is spacious and open inside but feels kinda stuffy because of the shortage of windows. There is a large skylight in the entryway which lends light but not air, and makes it really hot late in the day. And the bedrooms and bathroom all have accordion doors, which was fine for our family but does not give a lot of privacy. The kitchen is also pretty cramped. The location is great — up a quiet secluded road but just a 10-15 min drive from Traverse City, a mile from the Leelenau Trail, and 30-45 min from all other destinations on the Leelenau Peninsula, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. Overall the house grew on me but I still think it’s overpriced for what it is. You’re clearly paying for the location.

Hey Mira! Thank you so much for your feedback! This home has a very unique structure to it, which causes some natural impacts. Since your stay we have added an air purifier, which has helped tremendously! We deeply appreciate your feedback. We pride ourselves in communication and immediate action, addressing the things you have mentioned are on our radar!

Amazing place! Secluded but only minutes from everything to experience in Traverse City.
- Anonymous , Posted: 6/25/2023
Hey Katie! Thank you so much for the review! The secludedness of this home is one of our favorite parts! While at the home, you feel like you have a large area to yourself, and then you hop in the car for a short drive to explore Downtown TC! We are thrilled that you enjoyed our home on your TC summer vacation! We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again!

The White Stone House was a perfect retreat for our trip to Traverse City. The house is on a beautiful secluded property within walking distance to the Deyoung nature area. We took advantage of being able to go on a hike from our doorstep. The house itself is rustic and dated but that added to its charm—we had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The fire pit was a nice bonus. They provided fire wood for a lovely evening hangout. Would stay here again.

The White Stone House was beautiful. We enjoyed beautiful mornings and evenings with a stunning view. It's very quiet and peaceful and close enough to downtown. We also enjoyed the bike path and the DeYoung Nature Center, which included walks to Cedar Lake! You are close enough to get up to the wineries too. Overall a great place! We do have a toddler, and the front of the house is quiet bright, which wasn't ideal for the afternoon nap. However, our overall experience was simply fabulous!

This is probably one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed at. The house is very cool, nicely decorated, and fairly well-appointed. We were super comfortable here and enjoyed just spending time hanging at the house. The location is amazing if you're looking for peace and privacy. It's set way back on a beautiful wooded lot (just bring your bug spray if you want to spend time wandering the paths or hanging around the fire pit!). I would note that you're going to travel a dusty gravel road to reach the property, so be prepared for the bumpy ride and for your car to get super dirty! Despite feeling secluded, it's super close to downtown and all of the Traverse City attractions.
- Anonymous , Posted: 5/25/2023
Very private and secluded but still close to traverse city and the leelanau bike trail.
- Anonymous , Posted: 10/7/2022
This was a wonderful rental for a short girls trip to the area. Nice and private yet close to everything. We were all very impressed with the amenities provided such as coffee pods, creamer, laundry detergent, etc. The only issue we found with the place was the bathroom door. Upon renting I knew it was a bifold door however it did not close completly and did leave a visible gap. We may have been able to force it closed but we didnt want to damage anything. Other than that, perfect. I would definitely stay here again.
- Anonymous , Posted: 9/29/2022
A great quiet spot that's far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be relaxing but still close enough that you can get to all the sights downtown or up the peninsula quickly and easily, though with the fire pit, grill, amazing sunroom and peace and quiet it makes you never want to leave. We will definitely be coming back next time we are up in Traverse City. Perfect spot!
- Anonymous , Posted: 9/20/2022
Loved it! Just as described!
- Anonymous , Posted: 9/5/2022
This was a well-decorated house that was only 15 minutes from town. Unfortunately, it stank of mildew and had large amounts of black mold on the ceiling. Additionally, the WiFi was so slow it was impossible to stream (or join a meeting like I was supposed to). Not a terrible place to stay, but absolutely cannot recommend at the price of $457 a night, especially with only one toilet.
- Anonymous , Posted: 8/16/2022
The location was great. The house is near a bike trail so we were able to take bike rides into Traverse City and also up north. There is a parking lot off the main road for the bike trail. I highly recommend driving there and parking because the ride back to the house from the bike trail is mostly gravel and uphill We learned the hard way:)
The house was very clean and had everything we needed and more. It was nice that they had the little things like olive oil and spices, laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner, etc. Made us feel at home.
We really enjoyed the fire pit. I think we made 4 fires over a 3 day period. The firewood was dry and easy to light, which has not been the case at other houses we've stayed at.
We had a great time and highly recommend this house!

The White Stone House is lovely, but as another reviewer mentioned, it does have a bit of a bunker feel to it. It's nicely decorated on the inside and is well represented in the pictures on the listing, however one big detail we did not pay attention is worth noting: The doors to the bedrooms AND the bathroom are only white folding doors. If you are looking for privacy from others you are traveling with, the folding doors are probably not going to offer you the privacy you want. We didn't mind it too much in the bedrooms, but the bathroom was a bit different.
We enjoyed the seclusion the house offered while still only being 10 minutes from downtown Traverse City. The outdoor patio and firepit were a great way to wind down the evening.
Overall, we had a great stay at The White Stone house and the management company did a great job with communication.

This place was absolutely divine for a long weekend getaway. We couldn't have asked for more. Loved the location and how it was secluded from the town, but was close enough where traveling to and from was a breeze. Such a wonderful location to stay especially if you are planning to travel through different parts up north! One of the best parts about getting to stay here was being able to come back after our day trips and being able to settle down out by the fire pit for the evening. Beautiful interior design, super cozy, and very neat. It was a place where six of us got to call this place our home for a long weekend getaway. Definitely would recommend!
- Anonymous , Posted: 7/19/2022
The owners of this house did a nice job trying to put a fresh coat of paint and update the decor on a old house, but aside from the living room area it still feels like a bit of a bunker-like old house. Not that I was expecting the Ritz, but aside from the lobby room with the skylight it felt a little cramped.
That said, the place was clean, location and outdoors areas were great. The property management company was also responsive when I had a few questions.

Overall, the stay was amazing for my group and I! The house is beautiful and in a secluded area! Loved being only a 10 minute drive from downtown traverse city!

So many great things about this rental!
#1 is the communication and customer service! Sometimes things do not go as planned. when we arrived we had an issue that needed attention. This issue wasn't the fault of the owner but it was a problem! I called the management company. They immediately answered, understood and agreed with my concern and came up with a plan. They offered another place for us to stay but they were so efficient and helpful that it wasn't necessary for us to move. The owner Rose even came by herself to help and check on everything. She even bought things for my kids to play with during our visit & to take home to make up for the inconvenience.
#2 This home is so charming & unique. The nice sized yard gave my kids space to play outside and we had a bonfire one night!
#3 The location is secluded but still close to everything. we attended a wedding at Bayview Weddings (which was also amazing!) we were less than 5 minutes from the wedding & reception. it was less than 10 minutes to downtown & 35 minutes from The sleeping bear sand dunes!
#4 The cost of this house was the same as most of the local hotels, but gave us so much more space inside and out for our family to enjoy!
I would definitely stay here again!

Great vacation place, we stayed as our family unit with 1 toddler (3 total) and one set of grandparents. The house was beautifully decorated, stays in a nice temperature zone when it is warm outside (was a bit chilly on arrival) and the outdoor seating area was simply perfect with enough shade to give comfort during hot and sunny days. Kitchen is very well stocked for all your cooking needs, not a lot of coffee mugs though. TV is easy to use and bathroom has an abundance of the fluffiest towels in the world. The place is close to downtown for restaurants and 30 min from sleeping bear dunes which is perfect for a day trip. Close by is also a farm where you can enjoy some local produce for the perfect lunch. Overall great experience, we're looking forward to come back.

Great stay overall, would recommend to friends and family visiting Traverse City. The home was so cute and cozy. The bedding was fresh, clean, and comfy. There were toiletries, kitchen utensils/cooking supplies, and a nice small bar. Although we didn’t use it, the outdoor patio and fire pit area was cute and inviting. Great location outside of downtown TC for people seeking more of an up north secluded stay, but still looking to experience what the city has to offer.
