The per night fee was affordable until the $400 cleaning fee and $180 Service fee. We also only had 4 people it would have been more affordable with a more people.

The service fee is set by Airbnb, and we don’t receive any portion of it—it goes directly to Airbnb to help cover their platform services, such as 24/7 customer support. The home was spacious with ample bathrooms and sleeping space for our large group of 8 adults. The location was just a block from all the downtown Suttons Bay shops and restaurants.

Cedar Shake Garden Retreat was a wonderful place to celebrate our Anniversary with friends! It was two blocks to walk to restaurants and close to the bike trail. Our group of nine loved gathering on the front porch and playing cards around the spacious table. The kitchen island was perfect for setting out buffets. The lovely backyard is very private. We hope to return again!

Location was great-one block away from downtown Suttons Bay with all the restaurants and shops. No grocery store in town, so it’s 20 min north to Northport or 25 min south to Traverse City. We were 3 families staying in town after a family wedding. Accommodations were great-we used the grill, fire pit and kitchen. Everything we needed in the kitchen-well stocked! The downstairs bedroom/playroom was hard to cool down-the room AC was right over the top bunk, so the mattress blocked airflow. Place was immaculately clean and water pressure was good. Be very careful in the two upstairs showers-the floor is super slippery. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed here as a group of three families with kids. Everyone had plenty of space and we were all comfortable. The indoor space is nicely decorated and the outdoor space is beautiful.

Great location! Just a block walking distance from downtown Suttons Bay! The house was clean and had fresh linens and towels. Definitely an older house so the noises from the old floor and the amenities are older, but can’t beat the location. Thanks for an awesome stay!

Eight members of my family stayed in the house for three nights. The house was spacious and worked great with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms for several people. The location was just a block from town and was exactly what we needed as we had other family living in town and we could easily walk between the locations. Overall, the house suited our needs and we had a wonderful fall family weekend. We would stay again if traveling to the area.

Very Cute old charming house. Beautiful backyard, great landscaping. Location is perfect. Check in was so easy. Friendly and responsive host. One problem we had was tons of fruit flies everywhere, every bedroom/bathroom and Ofcourse kitchen, we tried many things/spray but apple vinegar and dish soap caught so many of them in the kitchen. Host tried to help right away and gave some fly traps. Overall it was a good stay.

Beautiful home with comfortable beds in an ideal location. Everything you could need was within walking distance including a lovely and uncrowded beach and playground for little ones. Plenty of towels, extra bedding, and beach towels (extras of everything in the laundry room). Window air conditioners kept the home plenty cool. Home is old, so expected "old home" issues- squeaky floors, friendly bugs, and doorknobs that can be hard to open. Nothing that was an issue for us though. We were delighted to find such a gem of a home so close to everything and child-friendly. Tastefully decorated and quite peaceful. Would definitely consider this house again in the future!

This place is a gem! It’s a block from downtown Sutton’s Bay, yet has an enchanted-garden-feel backyard for privacy. The porch is filled with cozy places to relax, the kitchen is stocked with whatever is needed, and the AC units keep the spacious and clean interior cool and inviting. We had a group of teens that had a blast running from the basketball courts at the park a few houses down, to the beach, to get ice cream in town, then back to the beach for volleyball. The proximity to shopping is a plus too! Bayshore Vacation Rentals were communicative and friendly. We enjoyed the beach towels and chairs, movies on the tv, and even the books found around the house on shelves. My one complaint was that there was over $800 extra fees for taxes, cleaning, and service that were not shown until checkout. However, this is due to AirBnB, not Bayshore Rentals.

We had a great time. We were in town for the Bayshore Marathon and this location was perfect. A quick drive in to the city. Everything was clean and we were able to relax after a long day. We enjoyed being able to walk to the main strip of Suttons and get a bite to eat. Great location, great host. We will be back!

The house was in a great location.. close to the bay and a short trip to Traverse city. Also a great location for all the wineries around. We wish the weather was better during our stay because we never got to be in the backyard. We stayed in the house with 3 toddlers and an infant. There was plenty of room for everyone and my favorite part was the pack’n play they had there to use. Only downside was how hard it was to be quiet walking through the house because of the creaky floors (which we only cared about because of the littles when they slept).

We enjoyed our stay! The home is in a great location with only a short walk to the downtown shops and eateries. Downtown TC was only a 30 minute drive. Neighborhood was quite and peaceful and we enjoyed having out in the darling backyard. We encountered a few small issues but the host was very quick to respond.

We had 10 ladies stay at the house for a bachelorette party. The house was spacious and cute. The backyard was a dream and the front porch was a great lounge spot. Extremely close to downtown Sutton’s Bay, which allowed us to walk and shop easily. Downtown Traverse was a 25 minute drive, which was a quick trip for a night out there. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the house!

Stayed here for a bachelorette weekend. Comfortably slept 11 (a few chose to sleep on the couches but there’s 2 sets of twin bunk beds in the basement). 3 showers which made getting ready easy. We cooked dinner one night. Very random assortment of pots/pans and utensils but we made due. House is super close to downtown. Only down side was that only 3 cars could park at the house. No street parking allowed. So for a big group this was inconvenient. The host didn’t know where use we could park overnight. We risked parking on the street but I’m sure that’s not always going to work out. Overall, the house worked out great! The host responded very quickly.

Mary, we are so glad the home worked for your large group! Thank you for letting us know about the random cooking items; we will make sure there is a complete set of everything that is needed to cook! And, as far as the parking in Sutton's Bay, there is no street parking in the winter due to the snow plows, so 3 cars is all this home can accommodate. We are looking into alternative parking for next year. Sutton's Bay allows parking in the street from Memorial Day - Labor Day. Thanks again, we appreciate you!

This was the perfect house for a larger group and a weekend away! It was a great location in Sutton’s Bay. Host was great at communication. I wish it would have been nicer weather and we could have enjoyed sitting on the front porch! Would recommend!
